Tumblr Makes Its Own AMA Feature to Take On Reddit
Reddit AMAs are probably the site's most loved feature, and this is making other companies take notice as well. More specifically, Tumblr, which has just announced that, come Monday, it will be launching Answer Time, a so-called Tumblr AMA feature.
Just like Reddit, Tumblr plans to feature both well-known celebrities and newer, unknown Internet rising stars, and it will all be done using a new tool added to its native micro-blogging platform: Answer Time .
The first ever guests will be the guys from Fall Out Boy on Monday, June 8, followed on a daily basis by other celebrities like rapper Vic Mensa, actress Molly McAleer, (planned parenthood) activist Cecile Richards, and Tumblr's own founder and CEO David Karp.
One of the most annoying things about Reddit's AMA feature is the problematic way of sifting through all the answered and unanswered questions while the AMA is still going on, so we at least hope that Tumblr got the AMA's UI right.
Feature-wise, Tumblr seems to be going through one of its best periods lately, as just a few days ago it also revealed that it would be releasing a new GIF search feature as well.
Taking into account that Yahoo just announced yesterday that it would be closing down various of its services . currently, Tumblr & Flickr seem to be the company's best chances of keeping up with "what's cool" on the Internet right now.
